Lou Christie

Lou Christie, known for his distinctive falsetto, was a pioneering solo artist who wrote his own hits in the mid-'60s. Born Lugee Alfredo Giovanni Sacco in 1943, he began his music career in Pittsburgh before gaining national success with singles like "The Gypsy Cried" and "Two Faces Have I." Christie's chart-topping "Lightnin' Strikes" in 1966 solidified his place in pop music history. He continued to release music into the '70s and '80s, eventually making a comeback with new material in 1997.

Following his early success, Lou Christie continued to release music and perform, with a notable appearance at the Bottom Line in New York City in 2003. Throughout his career, he navigated various record labels and musical styles, from pop to country.
