Composer and producer Scott Morgan, known as Loscil, creates ambient music that seamlessly blends intuition and intellect. Inspired by the history and geography of southwestern British Columbia, particularly his hometown of Vancouver, Morgan has crafted albums like 2004’s First Narrows and 2012’s Sketches from New Brighton, which combine layered atmospheres and subtle melodies within conceptual frameworks. His music, characterized by a vast yet intimate feel, has evolved with ecologically minded works like 2016’s Monument Builders and collaborative projects such as 2023's meditative release with Lawrence English, Colours of Air.

Growing up in Vancouver and influenced by experimental and electronic music during his studies at Simon Fraser University, Morgan's minimalist dub/techno/ambient-inspired tracks as Loscil have garnered critical acclaim.
