Biography
Los Mier, known as "The Princes of Chicano music," are a legendary band from Nuevo Leon that helped pioneer the grupero movement in the 1990s with their mix of norteño, cumbia, and ranchera music. Formed by four brothers and two cousins in the early '80s, they gained popularity in Mexico and the Americas as traditionalists.
Throughout the '90s, Los Mier continued to record hit albums, tour extensively, and expand their influence in South America. Despite a brief hiatus from the studio, they made a successful comeback in the early 2000s with new recordings and chart-topping singles. The band faced tragedy in 2013 with the loss of their youngest member to cancer, but they persevered as a quintet and continued to perform, maintaining a loyal fan base and releasing new music.
