Los Kjarkas is a renowned Bolivian band hailing from the Capinota province in Cochabamba, known for playing various Andean folk music styles such as Saya, tuntuna, huayno, and carnavales. The band primarily utilizes instruments like the charango, quena, zampona, ronroco, guitar, and bombo, with Gonzalo Hermosa González serving as the leader, singer, guitarist, and songwriter. Originally founded by González along with his brothers and other members, the band has undergone lineup changes over the years, with notable additions like Makoto Shishido from Japan. In 2010, former band member Edwin Castellanos assumed the role of mayor in Cochabamba.
