Little Wings

Little Wings, originally from San Luis Obispo, California, encapsulates the essence of its coastal surroundings in dreamy, balladic music. Led by Kyle Field and featuring various members like Adam Selzer and Rob Kieswetter, the band's debut album Discover Worlds of Wonder on Walking Records in 1999 blended a Beach Boys-esque ideology with warm alt-country, drawing inspiration from California's landscapes. After relocating to Portland, Oregon, Field's musical evolution continued, with subsequent releases like Wonder City and Wonderue forming part of the band's conceptual "Wonder Trilogy."

Following their debut, Little Wings released a series of albums that showcased Field's prolific songwriting, including Light Green Leaves in 2002, Harvest Joy in 2003, and Magic Wand in 2004. Field's exploration of non-traditional song structures transitioned to more traditional sounds with albums like Soft Pow'r in 2007. The band's discography continued to expand with pastoral and heartfelt releases like Black Grass in 2011, Last in 2013, and Explains in 2015, demonstrating Little Wings' enduring commitment to crafting evocative and introspective music.
