Lich King, a thrash metal band, clarifies that they are not named after a World of Warcraft character, and their 4th album cover is unrelated to Adventure Time. The band draws inspiration from old-school thrash metal bands like Exodus, Vio-Lence, S.O.D., and Slayer, striving to create a unique sound within the genre. Founded by Tom Martin in 2004 as a solo project, Lich King evolved into a full band in 2009, staying true to the classic thrash metal sound of the 80s while adding their own twist to it.
Since their inception, Lich King has released five full-length albums, known for their fast, headbangable riffs, darkly comedic yet intense songwriting, and distinctive artwork by Tom Martin. Despite their efforts to stay true to the roots of thrash metal, the band has unintentionally developed a signature sound. Additionally, Lich King boasts an iconic logo and mascot, emphasizing that the mascot is not associated with any video game.
