Kurt Carr

Kurt Carr, a gospel leader, immersed himself in church music at a young age, drawing inspiration from gospel greats like Walter Hawkins and Andrae Crouch. Mentored by Richard Smallwood, Carr's musical horizons expanded to include various styles. Joining Reverend James Cleveland's ensemble in 1986, Carr later released his compositions on his own record label, GospoCentric, leading the Kurt Carr Singers through multiple albums blending contemporary and traditional gospel sounds.

In addition to his own music, Carr serves as the creative director for the West Angeles Church of God in Christ and promotes artists on his GospoCentric label, such as Trin-i-tee 5:7 and Kirk Franklin. With a degree in fine arts and a background in classical music, Carr's influence in the gospel industry has been significant, showcasing his talent as both a musician and a mentor.
