Kinobe, the renowned downtempo group, gained widespread acclaim in 2000 with their hit single "Slip Into Something More Comfortable," which became a staple in chillout music and featured on numerous compilations, soundtracks, and commercials. Founded in London in 1998 by childhood friends Julius Waters and Mark Blackburn, the duo quickly produced their debut album, Soundphiles, under Jive Records, showcasing a blend of minimal electronic setup and guitar work. Over the years, Kinobe evolved their sound with subsequent albums like Versebridgechorus? (2001) and Wide Open (2004), incorporating live instrumentation and guest vocalists. Following lineup changes and a hiatus, the group made a comeback in 2017 with EP releases and continued their musical journey with albums like The Golden Age (2018).

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Julius Waters relocated to Australia and embarked on a solo career, releasing albums like Follow the Sun (2020) and Full Circle (2022). In 2023, Waters is set to unveil his eighth studio album, Over The Horizon, which was written and recorded in a beach house in Western Australia, showcasing his ongoing musical exploration and creativity.
