Kinky, a Latin alternative group hailing from Monterrey, Mexico, combines funk-rock and electronic dance music to create a distinctive sound that has earned them a global fanbase. Formed in 2000, the band, initially a trio, expanded to a quintet with a more band-oriented dynamic, catching the attention of producer Chris Allison who signed them to his Sonic 360 label. Their self-titled debut in 2002 was a critical success, further boosted by a Nissan Altima commercial featuring their music.

Renowned for their electrifying live performances, Kinky evolved their sound on subsequent albums like Atlas (2003) and Reina (2006), featuring collaborations with notable artists. Their diverse discography includes Rarities (2007), Barracuda (2008), and the electronic-infused Sueño de la Máquina (2010), showcasing their versatility. In 2015, Kinky took on the challenge of an acoustic performance for MTV Unplugged, blending their electronic roots with organic elements, leading to the release of their MTV Unplugged album. Their latest offering, Nada Vale Más Que Tú, released in 2017, sees a return to the electronic sound that characterized their early work.
