Kingdom, the Los Angeles-based producer, has been a key figure in underground dance music and left-field R&B since the early 2010s, blending contemporary R&B with U.K. bass music influences. He co-runs the Fade to Mind label and has collaborated with artists like Syd and SZA. Kingdom's debut album, Tears in the Club, in 2017, showcased his unique sound that incorporates electro, house, and post-new jack swing R&B elements.

Born Ezra Rubin, Kingdom moved from Massachusetts to New York City to study art before making a name for himself in the late 2000s as a DJ in the club scene. He gained recognition with releases on Night Slugs and Fool's Gold labels before founding Fade to Mind in Los Angeles. Kingdom's work with artists like Kelela and his experimental yet accessible dance tracks have solidified his influence in the music industry, leading to successful releases like Neurofire and Transmission in the 2020s.
