Biography
American rappers Kanye West and Kid Cudi, who had a longstanding collaborative history, joined forces in 2018 to form the duo Kids See Ghosts. The project emerged as part of the GOOD Music summer releases recorded in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, with their self-titled album released on June 8, 2018. Featuring themes of mental health and hope, the seven-song set included guest appearances by Ty Dolla $ign, Pusha T, and Yasiin Bey, as well as samples of Louis Prima and Kurt Cobain.
Prior to their Kids See Ghosts project, West and Cudi had a decade-long partnership, with West signing Cudi to his GOOD Music imprint in 2008. Their collaborations spanned multiple albums, including West's 808s & Heartbreak and Cudi's Man on the Moon series. Despite a brief falling out, Cudi continued to feature on West's subsequent releases, culminating in the official announcement and release of Kids See Ghosts in 2018.
