Kevin Johansen and his band, the Nada, have garnered major critical and popular acclaim in Latin America, particularly in Argentina, earning three Grammy nominations for their second album, Sur o No Sur. Born in Alaska and raised in Argentina, Johansen moved to New York City in 1990, where he gained performance experience at venues like CBGB's before returning to Buenos Aires in 2000 to record his debut album, The Nada. His bilingual, multicultural music style appealed to critics and mass audiences alike, with Sur o No Sur, released in 2003, solidifying his success and leading to worldwide tours.
