Kelpe

Kelpe, the moniker of London-based electronic artist Kel McKeown, began his musical journey in Loughborough, England, experimenting with rave beats in the '90s. Influenced by acts like Prefuse 73 and Boards of Canada, he signed with DC Recordings, releasing his debut EP in 2003 and album Sea Inside Body in 2004. Kelpe continued to refine his sound with releases like Ex-Aquarium and Cambio Wechsel before parting ways with DC in 2010 to work with labels like Black Acre and Fremdtunes, earning BBC airplay and touring internationally.

In 2013, Kelpe founded his own label DRUT and unveiled his fourth album, The Golden Eagle, in 2014. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists like Red Snapper and Jean-Jacques Perrey, showcasing his knack for blending found sounds and woozy electronics. With a discography spanning EPs and albums, Kelpe's innovative approach to electronic music has garnered critical acclaim and a dedicated following worldwide.
