Kate Boy

Hailing from Stockholm, electro-pop duo Kate Boy comprises singer/songwriter Kate Akhurst and producer Markus Dextegen. Akhurst, originally from Australia, gained songwriting experience in her teens before relocating to Sweden, where she joined forces with Dextegen. Their debut single "Northern Lights" was released in 2013 through IAMSOUND Records, followed by their first full-length album, One, in 2015 on Fiction Records. The Remix EP, featuring reinterpretations by artists such as Planningtorock and Clarence Clarity, was also released that year.

Kate Boy's music embodies a blend of sleek electronic elements and edgy pop sensibilities, reflecting their androgynous persona and egalitarian creative approach. Akhurst's background in songwriting for artists like Ashley Tisdale and Charice in Los Angeles, alongside Dextegen's production expertise, has shaped their unique sound. The duo's discography includes a series of singles leading up to their debut album, showcasing their distinctive synth-pop sound and establishing them as a notable presence in the music scene.
