Hailing from Kenosha, Wisconsin, Jungle Rot formed in 1993 and have since crafted a punishing blend of old-school thrash metal, death metal, crossover, and crusty punk, drawing inspiration from bands like Sodom and Bolt Thrower. Led by vocalist and guitarist Dave Matrise, the band's relentless output has spanned multiple record labels, including Century Media and Victory Records, with their latest self-titled album released in 2018, marking 25 years of their cacophonous sound.

Originally a side project of Jim Harte and Joe Thomas, Jungle Rot emerged from the remnants of Illinois thrashers Prisoner. With guitarist Dave Matrise taking the reins in 1994, the band gained attention with their demo "Skin the Living" and debut album "Slaughter the Weak." Despite numerous lineup changes, Jungle Rot persevered, solidifying their most stable lineup in 2005 and continuing to tour extensively alongside prominent metal acts like Goatwhore and Black Dahlia Murder. With a discography that includes albums released through labels like Napalm Records and Victory Records, Jungle Rot's fierce live performances and unwavering dedication have earned them a respected place in the extreme metal scene.
