Biography

INXS originated in Australia's pub scene, blending hard rock, synth pop, and new wave influences. The band's 1987 album Kick propelled them to international stardom, marked by hits like "Need You Tonight" and "Never Tear Us Apart." Despite continued touring and recording, the group faced challenges following the untimely death of lead singer Michael Hutchence in 1997.

Formed from the merger of two groups in 1977, INXS achieved success in Australia before signing with Atco Records in the U.S. Their breakthrough album, Listen Like Thieves, set the stage for Kick's massive success. However, subsequent releases struggled to match their earlier acclaim, leading to lineup changes and a decline in popularity. INXS continued with new vocalists and projects, culminating in the release of Original Sin in 2010 before announcing the end of touring in 2012. In subsequent years, the band's legacy was further explored through a miniseries and a documentary focusing on Michael Hutchence.
