INXS originated in Australia's pub scene, blending hard rock, synth pop, and new wave influences. Formed from the merger of two groups in 1977, INXS achieved success in Australia before signing with Atco Records in the U.S. Their breakthrough album, Listen Like Thieves, set the stage for Kick's massive success.
