İbrahim Tatlıses

Ibrahim Tatlises, also known as "Ibo," is a prominent Turkish entertainer, best known for his work in music, television, and film. Born in 1954, Tatlises found solace in music after a challenging upbringing and early struggles in his career. He gained fame with his cassette Ayaginda Kandura in 1978, which set sales records in Turkey. Tatlises has since released a total of 23 cassettes, with a focus on traditional Turkish folk music played on indigenous instruments.

Raised by his mother after his father's passing, Tatlises began performing at events in his teens, drawing inspiration from Turkish vocalist Yilmaz Guerney. Despite an initial setback with his first cassette in 1975, Tatlises found success with Ayaginda Kandura, propelling him into a successful music career. Known for his dance hits and mastery of the uzun havea style, Tatlises has garnered a strong following within the Turkish communities, particularly in Germany, where he is affectionately referred to as "the voice of the homeland."
