Harini (born April 30, 1979) is an Indian classical music vocalist and playback singer hailing from Chennai. She began her musical journey at the age of 4, studying Carnatic music under notable mentors such as Radha Viswanathan and Sudha Raghunathan. Harini gained recognition in the industry after winning a school singing competition, leading to collaborations with renowned film composer A. R. Rahman. Her professional debut came in 1995 with the Tamil film "Indira," where she recorded the song "Nila Kaigirathu." Over the years, she has contributed her vocals to numerous film soundtracks across Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada cinema, working with esteemed composers. Harini's accolades include the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Female Playback in 1997 and 2003. In addition to her film work, she has also released devotional songs in collaboration with singer P. Unni Krishnan in 2012, showcasing her versatility as a musician.
