Hank Williams, Jr., born in 1949 in Shreveport, Louisiana, is the son of country music legend Hank Williams. Following his father's footsteps, Hank Jr. began his music career as a teenager, achieving success with hits like "Family Tradition" and "A Country Boy Can Survive." Throughout the 1980s, he dominated the country music scene with multiple number one singles, but his chart presence waned in the 1990s as new artists emerged. Despite this, he remained active in the industry, making comebacks with albums like 2016's It's About Time and 2022's Rich White Honky Blues.
Raised by his mother Audrey to carry on his father's legacy, Hank Jr. signed with MGM Records at a young age and found early success with hits like "Long Gone Lonesome Blues" and "Standing in the Shadows."
