Biography

Genesis was a British rock band formed in 1965 at Charterhouse School in Surrey. The band went through various lineup changes and musical phases before achieving commercial success in the 1980s with hits like "Invisible Touch." Genesis disbanded in 2000 but reunited for occasional projects, including a farewell tour in 2020.

The band's early albums, such as "Nursery Cryme" and "Foxtrot," showcased their progressive rock style and theatrical live performances led by vocalist Peter Gabriel. After Gabriel's departure in 1975, drummer Phil Collins took over as lead vocalist, propelling Genesis to mainstream success with albums like "Duke" and "Abacab." The band's lineup continued to evolve, with Collins departing in the 1990s and a brief period with vocalist Ray Wilson. Genesis officially ended their career with The Last Domino? Tour in 2022, marking the conclusion of their musical journey.
