Biography

Freddie Mercury, born Farrokh Bulsara on September 5, 1946, in Zanzibar, was a vocalist known for his flamboyant stage presence and exceptional songwriting skills. Alongside Queen bandmates Brian May, John Deacon, and Roger Taylor, Mercury emerged as a prominent figure in rock music during the 1970s. His work with Queen produced classic albums and hits such as "Killer Queen" and "Bohemian Rhapsody." Mercury also pursued solo projects, collaborating with artists like Giorgio Moroder and Montserrat Caballe. His career was tragically cut short by his death from AIDS in 1991.

Mercury's musical journey began in England, where he attended Ealing College of Art and formed lasting friendships with musicians like Brian May and Roger Taylor. In 1970, he joined May and Taylor in forming Queen, blending influences from rock, opera, and pop. The band achieved worldwide success with albums like A Night at the Opera and A Day at the Races. Despite personal struggles and health challenges, Mercury continued to create music with Queen until his passing.
