Enigma, formed in 1990 by Bucharest native Michael Cretu, gained international acclaim for their unique blend of new age tones, chilled-out club production, and Gregorian chant samples. Their debut single "Sadeness (Pt. I)" in 1991 marked the beginning of their successful career, which saw the release of eight albums and collections over the next three decades, many of which charted on the Billboard charts.
