Biography

Elvis Crespo, born on July 30, 1971, in New York City, relocated to Guaynabo, Puerto Rico at the age of six. Growing up, he developed a passion for music and baseball. At 17, he began his music career by joining various orchestras before gaining recognition as a singer-songwriter in the popular music group "Grupo Manía." This led to a solo contract with Sony Music.

Crespo's debut album, ​Suavemente​, released in the mid-90s, achieved significant success, reaching #1 on multiple Billboard charts. The album's singles, particularly “Tu Sonrisa" and “Suavemente,” became global hits, with the latter topping the Billboard “Hot Latin Songs” chart for 7 weeks. Notably, Crespo made history as the first Tropical genre artist on Sony Music to sell over a million copies in the US and over 4 million worldwide.
