Biography

Born José Angel Ledezma Quintero, El Coyote began his solo career in 1997 after stints in bands like La Costeña and Los Recoditos. Forming Tierra Santa, the group released several albums under EMI, including Aquí Me Quedaré and El Rancho Grande. Transitioning to Fonovisa in 2005, they explored narcocorridos while maintaining a traditional sound, before parting ways after Levanta Tu Vuelo in 2009.

In 2011, El Coyote y Su Banda Tierra Santa's performance in Nayarit was disrupted by a firebombing, leading to their relocation to the U.S. Speculation arose that drug-related motives were behind the attack, though no suspects were caught. The band made a comeback with 2014's Alucine and continued their success with the 2015 compilation 20 Corridos Bien Perrones, showcasing their enduring popularity in the Mexican regional music scene.
