Derek Trucks

Blues and blues-rock guitarist Derek Trucks, nephew of renowned Allman Brothers drummer Butch Trucks, is known for his mastery of slide guitar across various genres. Influenced by legends like Buddy Guy, Elmore James, and Duane Allman, Trucks also draws inspiration from jazz icons such as John Coltrane and Charlie Parker. Starting his career at a young age, Trucks has shared stages with notable artists like Bob Dylan and Joe Walsh before forming his own band, The Derek Trucks Band, which released several albums in the late '90s and early 2000s.

Trucks and his wife, Susan Tedeschi, later formed the Tedeschi-Trucks Band, a soul-blues ensemble featuring a lineup of talented musicians. The group signed with Sony and released their debut album, Revelator, in June 2011 on the Masterworks label, showcasing their unique blend of soulful blues music. Trucks' musical journey highlights his evolution as a versatile guitarist and bandleader, with a discography that reflects his deep-rooted passion for blues and jazz influences.
