Biography

Del Amitri, a Scottish band formed in 1982 by Justin Currie and Ian Harvie, gained popularity for their Beatlesque pop and country-rock sound. After releasing their self-titled major-label debut in 1985, the band faced some challenges but rebounded with a successful U.S. tour and a new deal with A&M Records. Their breakthrough came with the release of the album Twisted in 1995, which featured the hit single "Roll to Me" and propelled them to global success.

Following Twisted, Del Amitri released Some Other Sucker's Parade in 1997, which continued their adult alternative jangle pop style but did not produce any major hits. The band's career was celebrated in 1998 with the release of the anthology Hatful of Rain: The Best of Del Amitri, showcasing their best songs. Their album Can You Do Me Good? in 2002 continued their soulful and melodic sound, solidifying their place in the music industry.
