Biography

Deathstars, the Swedish industrial/goth-metal group known for their horror-themed lyrics and sinister appearance, gained regional success with their 2002 debut album Synthetic Generation before achieving international recognition with Night Electric Night in 2009. Formed in Stockholm in 2000, the band's lineup includes vocalist Whiplasher Bernadotte, guitarist/keyboardist Nightmare Industries, guitarist Cat Casino, bassist Skinny Disco, and drummer Bone W Machine. Their subsequent releases The Perfect Cult (2014) and Everything Destroys You (2023) continued to showcase their signature death-glam sound.

Following the departures of Bone W Machine and Cat Casino, Deathstars released their fourth album, The Perfect Cult, in 2014, featuring a more synth-driven sound. With new drummer Nitro on board, the band's fifth album, Everything Destroys You, was delayed to 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic but still found success in Germany and Switzerland. Throughout their career, Deathstars have maintained their dark and brooding aesthetic, solidifying their presence in the goth-metal scene.
