In the early 2000s, singer/songwriter Christopher Carrabba transitioned from his post-hardcore band Further Seems Forever to focus on his vulnerable solo project, Dashboard Confessional. With heartfelt acoustic musings and soul-baring lyrics, Carrabba quickly became a key figure in the emo genre. Dashboard Confessional's peak came with albums like A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar (2003) and Dusk and Summer (2006), before taking a hiatus and returning with Crooked Shadows in 2018. Despite setbacks like a motorcycle accident and the COVID-19 pandemic, Carrabba released All the Truth That I Can Tell in 2022, showcasing a return to the intimate sound that defined his early work.
