Crystal Gayle

Crystal Gayle, born Brenda Gail Webb in 1951 in Paintsville, Kentucky, followed in the footsteps of her older sister, country superstar Loretta Lynn. Encouraged by Lynn, Gayle signed with Decca and later United Artists, where she found creative freedom and developed her own unique style. Her breakthrough came with the crossover hit "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue," which won her a Grammy and made her the first female country artist to achieve platinum status.

In the late '70s and '80s, Gayle enjoyed a string of hits, including multiple number one country singles and successful crossover tracks. Despite a decline in chart success in the late '80s, Gayle continued to record and explore different genres, releasing gospel albums and specialty projects. In the 2010s, she made a comeback with her induction into the Grand Ole Opry and the release of the album "You Don't Know Me," showcasing her enduring talent and influence in the country music industry.
