Cough

Cough, a Richmond, Virginia-based band formed around 2005, drew influences from traditional doom bands such as Cathedral and Electric Wizard, as well as gritty sludge groups like Eyehategod and Buzzov-en, incorporating elements of psychedelic and space rock. The band, consisting of David Cisco (vocals, guitar), Parker Chandler (vocals, bass), Joseph Arcaro (drums), and later Brandon Marcey (second guitar), gained momentum with releases like The Kingdom EP (2007) and Sigillum Luciferi (2008), leading to a record deal with Relapse Records for their second album, Ritual Abuse (2010). They also collaborated on split EPs with bands like the Wounded Kings and Windhand before releasing their third studio album, Still They Pray, in 2016.
