Conjunto Clásico

For over a decade, Conjunto Clásico, a New York salsa band, has maintained a modern and fresh sound while sticking to the traditional Cuban conjunto format. Led by Raymond Castro and Ramón Rodríguez, the band released 11 albums on their own label between 1979 and 1990, with various vocalists such as Tito Nieves and Johnny Rivera. In 1990, the band collaborated with Rafael De Jesús on their acclaimed album "Sensaciones."

Prior to forming Conjunto Clásico, Ramón Rodríguez produced albums for other artists on their Lo Mejor label and even fronted his own trombone-led band. Additionally, he wrote hit tracks and collaborated with various musicians, showcasing his versatility and talent in the salsa music scene. The band's discography reflects their dedication to preserving traditional salsa while infusing it with contemporary elements, making them a standout in the genre.
