Chumbawamba

Formed in 1984 in Leeds, England, Chumbawamba, an anarchist pop group, achieved mainstream success with their 1997 hit single "Tubthumping" after years of activism and politically aware albums. The band, originally composed of Dunstan Bruce, Alice Nutter, and Lou Watts, challenged conventions through benefit concerts and controversial releases, including their major-label debut, Tubthumper.

Following their major-label success, Chumbawamba continued to evolve, releasing albums that ranged from experimental sampling to stripped-down acoustic folk. The band's rebellious spirit and political activism remained at the core of their music, as they navigated changes in the music industry and continued to challenge societal norms through their art.
