Choir of Young Believers

Formed in 2006 by Lake Placid guitarist Jannis Noya Makrigiannis, Choir of Young Believers is a Danish indie pop project known for its acoustic-based sound and grandiose arrangements. Makrigiannis, of Danish-Greek-Indonesian descent, released the group's debut EP Burn the Flag in 2007 on Tigerspring, which garnered critical acclaim and success on the Danish charts. The band's subsequent albums, including This Is for the White in Your Eyes (2008) and Rhine Gold (2012), were released through Ghostly International, with Grasque following in 2016. Tragically, Makrigiannis passed away in late 2022 after a brief illness, as confirmed by his representatives in January 2023.
