Biography
In 2010, Philadelphia alt-hip-hop duo Chiddy Bang quickly gained popularity with their MGMT-sampling hit "The Opposite of Adults." Originally a four-piece group blending electronic and hip-hop elements, the duo of rapper Chidera "Proto" Anamege and producer Xaphoon Jones emerged by the end of 2009. Their unique sound, which featured sampling of artists like Radiohead and Belle & Sebastian, garnered attention online with tracks such as "Ice Cream Man" before the success of "The Opposite of Adults" brought them international fame. Following collaborations with acts like Gorillaz, Chiddy Bang released their debut EP "The Preview" in 2010 and continued to build momentum with mixtapes leading up to their first official album, "Breakfast," in 2012.
