Biography

Charice, a Filipina singing sensation with a powerful soprano voice, rose to fame in 2008 after captivating audiences on talent shows and gaining international recognition through appearances on television variety shows like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show. She released her debut mini-album, Charice, followed by a second album titled My Inspiration in 2009, which included the hit single "Note to God." Charice's self-titled full-length album in 2010 reached the Top Ten in multiple countries and she later joined the cast of Glee for its second season as Sunshine Corazon.

In 2011, Charice released Infinity, featuring singles written by Bruno Mars and Nick Jonas, followed by Chapter 10 in 2013, which included covers of popular songs. Charice publicly came out as a lesbian in 2013, later transitioning to a male identity and changing his name to Jake Zyrus in 2017. His music evolved with the introspective and rock-oriented album Catharsis in 2016.
