Emerging in the late 1980s, Buffalo Tom evolved from their early college rock sound to become a lasting force in the alt-rock scene of the '90s. The Boston trio, comprised of Bill Janovitz, Chris Colbourn, and Tom Maginnis, gained recognition with albums like Let Me Come Over and Big Red Letter Day, showcasing a mix of introspective ballads and energetic rock tunes. After a hiatus in the late '90s, Buffalo Tom returned in 2007 with Three Easy Pieces and continued to release new music, culminating in their 2024 album, Jump Rope, demonstrating their enduring presence in the music industry.

Formed at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1986, Buffalo Tom quickly became a part of Boston's vibrant college rock scene, with early albums produced by J.
