Buck 65

Richard Terfry, known as Buck 65, began his music career in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he established himself as a prominent figure in the local hip-hop scene through his radio show and collaborations. His early releases, including Chin Music and The Wild Life trilogy, gained him recognition both locally and internationally. In 1997, Buck 65 released Language Arts, a critically acclaimed album that showcased his unique blend of storytelling and lo-fi production, marking his entry into the hip-hop circuit. Subsequent albums like Vertex and Man Overboard further solidified his reputation as a progressive and versatile artist.

Throughout his career, Buck 65 continued to push boundaries with albums like Talkin' Honky Blues and Secret House Against the World, showcasing his diverse musical influences and storytelling abilities. His collaborations with artists such as Mr. Dibbs and Greetings from Tuskan led to the formation of the band Bike for Three! and the release of albums like More Heart Than Brains and So Much Forever. Despite label changes and genre experimentation, Buck 65 remained true to his eclectic style, culminating in releases like Neverlove and Laundromat Boogie, which continued to showcase his lyrical prowess and inventive approach to music.
