Biography
Brazilian Girls released their first album in a decade, Let’s Make Love, in 2018. Formed in 2003 after meeting at an East Village club, the band quickly gained recognition for their unique sound, blending elements of electronic, dance, and world music. Produced by Frederik Rubens, the album was created over several years, with the band members navigating their scattered locations in the U.S. and Europe to come together for writing and recording sessions, maintaining their strong chemistry throughout.
The quartet, consisting of Sabina Sciubba, Jesse Murphy, Didi Gutman, and Aaron Johnston, embraced a free-form ethos early on, leading to their signature kaleidoscopic sound. Despite long periods apart, their connection remained palpable, culminating in the seamless creation of Let’s Make Love. Through gigs in various international cities, the band continued to hone their craft, resulting in an album that showcases their ability to effortlessly blend genres and maintain their collaborative spirit.
