Boy Meets Girl

Seattle natives George Merrill and Shannon Rubicam formed the pop group Boy Meets Girl after meeting at a wedding where they both performed. The duo gained recognition as songwriters with hits for Whitney Houston, including "How Will I Know" and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody [Who Loves Me]." Boy Meets Girl's 1988 album, Reel Life, produced the hit single "Waiting for a Star to Fall," followed by "Bring Down the Moon." Despite shelving their 1991 album New Dream, Merrill and Rubicam continued to work as successful songwriters in the 1990s, before reviving Boy Meets Girl in 2003 with the release of Wonderground, an introspective album reflecting on their past successes and personal experiences.

In 2005, Boy Meets Girl released fully remastered versions of their recordings, including the previously unreleased '91 album New Dream. The duo's music showcases their evolution from '80s hitmakers to mature artists, as they explore themes of love, nostalgia, and the complexities of life through their music.
