Biography

Born on March 10, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio, Tom Scholz founded the rock band Boston, known for their fast-selling debut album in 1976. Scholz, a former MIT graduate, built a recording studio in his basement where he and vocalist Brad Delp recorded demos that led to a contract with Epic. The band's self-titled debut album featured hits like "More Than a Feeling" and "Peace of Mind," becoming a chart-topper and setting records for best-selling debut efforts.

Following the success of their debut, Boston released subsequent albums, with Scholz remaining a constant member alongside Delp. Despite legal battles and lineup changes, the band continued to release music, including the album "Love Life & Hope" in 2013, featuring vocals by Delp and a return to their classic sound.
