Biography

Formed in 1992, German instrumental quartet Bohren & der Club of Gore blends doom metal with jazz influences. Originally named Bohren, the band added "der Club of Gore" in 1993 as a nod to their inspiration, the Dutch band GORE. Through lineup changes and additions, including saxophonist Christoph Clöser in 1997, the band evolved their sound to create albums like 2000's Sunset Mission and 2008's Dolores. After a hiatus, they returned with releases such as Mitleid Lady in 2010 and Piano Nights in 2014, leading up to their latest record, "Patchouli Blue," released in 2020 after a period of selected live shows and a break.
