Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, a California-based swing-and-jump blues group, rose to fame in the '90s during the neo-swing revival alongside acts like Squirrel Nut Zippers and Cherry Poppin' Daddies. Known for their big-band sound and swing dance influence, the band has evolved over the years, deepening their jazz roots while maintaining a loyal following. Formed in 1989 by Scotty Morris and Kurt Sodergren, the band gained traction in the lounge scene, eventually signing with Capitol Records and releasing successful albums like Americana Deluxe.

Despite the decline of the swing revival, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy continued to thrive through touring and releasing albums that showcased their jazz and swing influences. With a discography that includes various styles from New Orleans jazz to Christmas music, the band has stayed true to their roots while exploring new sounds. Celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2017 with the release of Louie Louie Louie, an homage to jazz legends Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima, and Louis Jordan, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy remains a staple in the swing music scene.
