BBC Concert Orchestra

The BBC Concert Orchestra, part of the British Broadcasting Company's orchestral lineup, is primarily focused on light music, popular music, and jazz despite its name, with a strong emphasis on radio broadcasting. Originating from the BBC Theatre Orchestra in 1931, it later evolved into the BBC Concert Orchestra in 1952 and became known for its longstanding radio program Friday Night is Music Night.
