Banda Toro

Formed in Los Angeles in 1992 by Saúl Esqueda, Banda Toro gained fame for their 1993 cover of Paper Lace's "The Night Chicago Died," becoming key players in Mexico's la quebradita movement. Embracing the synthesizer-heavy technobanda sound, they released their self-titled debut album and followed up with a second record in 1994, featuring hits like "Rivers of Babylon" and "La Ruca No Era Ruca." In 2018, the band reunited to create new music, resulting in the release of 2020's "2 Bandas Musicales."

Banda Toro, led by Zacatecas-born Saúl Esqueda, rose to prominence in the 1990s as pioneers of Mexico's la quebradita scene. Known for their technobanda style and English song covers, their discography includes hits like "Anoche Me Enamore" and a rendition of Frank Sinatra's "My Way."
