Ayub Ogada

Ayub Ogada's diverse background as a Luo musician from Western Kenya, educated in both African and Western cultures, has greatly influenced his unique musical style. After playing with the African Heritage Band in Kenya, Ogada took his talents abroad, showcasing his skills on the streets of the U.K. with his nyatiti. His breakthrough came when he was invited to perform at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival in 1986, leading to the recording of his debut album, En Mane Kuoyo (Just Sand), at Realworld Studios in 1993. Since then, Ogada has continued to tour extensively with WOMAD, showcasing his fusion of traditional African music with modern influences to audiences worldwide.
