Biography

Formed in Brooklyn in 2009 after the breakup of Pela, emotionally charged indie rock band Augustines, later known as We Are Augustines, released their debut album Rise Ye Sunken Ships in August 2011. Drawing influences from U2, the Hold Steady, and the National, the album showcased the band's spirited sound. After reverting back to their original name, Augustines released their self-titled sophomore album in 2014, followed by This Is Your Life in 2016, which marked a shift towards a more pop-oriented direction. The band announced their breakup shortly after the release of their third album, with their final tour documented in the film RISE.
