In October 2009, Thom Yorke, Nigel Godrich, Flea, Joey Waronker, and Mauro Refosco debuted as an unnamed group in Los Angeles, performing The Eraser in its entirety and new material. Following a brief U.S. tour and an appearance at Coachella in 2010, they adopted the name Atoms for Peace, inspired by a track from The Eraser and a speech by President Eisenhower. Their first release, a 12" on 50 Weapons, featured a remix of Other Lives' "Tamer Animals" and their own "Other Side [Stuck Together Mix]." Their debut single, "Default," was released in November 2012 on XL, followed by their album Amok in February, which included "Judge Jury and Executioner."
