Icelandic singer/songwriter Ásgeir, born Ásgeir Trausti Einarsson, gained rapid success in his homeland with his debut album, featuring intimate and soulful songs blending indie electronic and folk influences. His unique sound is complemented by lyrics primarily penned by his father, poet Einar Georg Einarsson. With the assistance of singer/songwriter John Grant, Ásgeir released an English version of his debut album in 2013, which charted in multiple countries. His follow-up album in 2017, Afterglow, embraced experimental electronic textures alongside acoustic elements for a bolder sonic landscape.
