Art Garfunkel

After the breakup of Simon & Garfunkel in 1970, Art Garfunkel pursued a solo career and ventured into acting. Despite not being a songwriter like his former partner Paul Simon, Garfunkel collaborated with various songwriters, including Jimmy Webb and Randy Newman, and achieved moderate success with several Top 40 hits in the mid-'70s. His debut solo album, "Angel Clare," released in 1973, set the tone for his melodic soft rock style that he continued throughout his solo career.

Garfunkel's solo career peaked with the release of "Breakaway" in 1975, produced by Richard Perry, which included the hit single "I Only Have Eyes for You." Despite subsequent albums like "Watermark" and "Scissors Cut," his commercial success began to decline in the late '70s and early '80s. After a successful reunion concert with Paul Simon in 1981, Garfunkel continued to release music sporadically, with albums like "Everything Waits to Be Noticed" in 2002 and "Some Enchanted Evening" in 2007.
