With a career spanning nearly three decades, Aria is one of Russia's oldest and most enduring heavy metal bands. Founded in the early '80s by guitarist Vladimir Holstinin and singer Valery Kipelov, the band released their debut self-titled album in 1985, showcasing a strong influence from Iron Maiden. Despite challenges in international exposure due to limited distribution and predominantly Russian lyrics, Aria has maintained a loyal following over the years.

Throughout the 1990s, Aria released a mix of live albums, compilations, and studio LPs, with a resurgence in 1999 through a promotional collaboration with Harley-Davidson for the Tribute to Harley-Davidson EP. The band continued to release albums in the early 2000s, introducing new members and demonstrating a commitment to their music, ensuring their presence in the heavy metal scene for the foreseeable future.
